Suriya initially faced struggles to establish himself, but perseverance led to his breakthrough with the psychological thriller “Nandha” (2001). Subsequent films such as “Kaakha Kaakha” (2003) and “Pithamagan” established him as both a commercial and critical force.
The actor’s versatility is apparent in his wide-ranging roles—from the amnesiac protagonist in “Ghajini” to twin brothers in “Perazhagan,” for which he won his first Filmfare Award.
