Rakesh Roshan is an acclaimed Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, and former actor whose contributions have significantly shaped Bollywood. Born into a film family, he is the son of celebrated music director Roshan (Roshan Lal Nagrath). 

Early on, Rakesh was exposed to the nuances of filmmaking and the intricacies of the Indian film industry. He began his career in the 1970s as an actor, often taking on supporting and negative roles in Hindi cinema.

Despite a moderately successful acting stint, Roshan discovered a passion for filmmaking that led him to transition behind the camera. His directorial debut, “Khudgarz” (1987), set the tone for a new chapter in his career.
