Amit Roy’s cinematography ensures that Mumbai looks both glamorous and gritty. Every rain-soaked street, every neon-lit alley feels like it has a story of its own. 🌃
The editing by A. Sreekar Prasad keeps the film fast-paced, though at times, scenes feel like they were cut shorter than a police constable’s lunch break.
Shahid Kapoor’s Power-Packed Performance
If there’s one thing Deva gets absolutely right, it’s Shahid Kapoor’s performance.
🎭 He delivers a career-defining act as ACP Dev Ambre, portraying a cop who is as intense as he is unpredictable. His expressions, body language, and emotional depth make Dev one of the most layered characters we’ve seen in a while.
When Shahid is on screen, you can’t look away—partly because he’s that good and partly because his stern expressions make you afraid to blink! 👀
Pooja Hegde and the Supporting Cast
Pooja Hegde plays Diya Sathaye, a journalist who adds intrigue to the narrative.
✔️ Her charm and screen presence work well, but at times, her character feels disconnected from the core story, almost as if her scenes belong to a different film altogether.

While Deva starts strong, its storyline loses steam in the second half.

🚦 The second half, however, feels rushed and takes unnecessary detours—like a cop car missing the right exit on a chase.
The climax, which is different from the original Malayalam version, lands with the impact of a rubber bullet—it just doesn’t hit hard enough.
Some plot twists feel forced, and a tighter screenplay could have made the narrative much more engaging.
